Over the years, Attorney Barry Goodman knew of other men who gave of their time in the parade’s Distinguished Clown Corps and felt it was time to give back to the city he is so passionate about.

The Distinguished Clown Corps is a by invitation-only privilege that carries a required donation to support the Michigan Thanksgiving Parade Foundation (The Parade Company). The purpose of the organization to stage and perpetuate America’s Thanksgiving Parade ensuring that the parade remains a vital part of Detroit’s cultural community.

Goodman vowed in 2014 to continue to be a clown each year providing he is healthy enough to brave the cold and walk the 3 - 4 miles, and he did just that.
